A pickled ear? I think if someone cut off my ear, the last thing I would think of doing was having it pickled! Strange times.
Best wishes, Pete.

Interesting origin of Pimms. I’ve never tried it neat – maybe next summer when I buy my next bottle. Currently imbibing a pre-sunday-roast gin and Dubonnet, historically known as “coffee” in my family – a favourite of the late Queen Mother, so I felt it relevant.

I’ve never heard of that drink before. My late father met the Queen Mum and Margaret many times and would say he suspected gin had been consumed beforehand. But he was a Republican!
