London in Quotations: T. S. Eliot

T. S. Eliot (1888-1965), The Rock

  1. That play was staged in 1934 to raise money for new churches in London. The money might have been better spent refurbishing the hundreds of churches that already existed in the city.

    Best wishes, Pete.
