Shakespeare recognised that had he lived Marlowe would have surpassed him as a playwrite. Incidentally he wrote in iambic pentameter before Shakespeare. I’ve just found that one out.

Christopher Marlowe is intriguing. Did he pen some of Shakespeare’s plays? Was he murdered in a house near Deptford Creek or was the body ‘an imposter’ & CM fled to Europe? Was he Catholic or Protestant? Was he a double agent for or against QE1? A fascinating man of mystery.
