London in Quotations: Peter Morton

When I founded the first Hard Rock, no one was serving American food in London; McDonald’s wasn’t there, Burger King, etc.

Peter Morton (b.1947)

  1. Went there once with friends. Had to queue outside for quite a while, and when we got in it was so noisy we could hardly hear ourselves talk. The food was good, but as soon as we had finished eating and didn’t order anything else, they brought the bill and asked us to pay and leave. It was too successful for its own good, I suppose. We never went back.

    Best wishes, Pete.
